Blake Lively Speaks on Justin Baldoni Lawsuit Dismissal

After a court rejected Justin Baldoni's 650 million dollars lawsuit against Blake Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and The New York Times, the actress is celebrating a significant legal win. While acknowledging that she had experienced the anguish of a retaliatory lawsuit, she vowed to keep advocating for women's rights.

Following the judge's dismissal of Justin Baldoni's 400 million dollars lawsuit against her, Blake rushed to Instagram to voice her opinions.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Blake wrote, “Last week, I stood proudly alongside 19 organisations united in defending women's rights to speak up for their safety. Like so many others, I've felt the pain of a retaliatory lawsuit, including the manufactured shame that tries to break us. While the suit against me was defeated, so many don't have the resources to fight back."

The 37-year-old star added, “I'm more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman's right to have a voice in protecting themselves, including their safety, their integrity, their dignity and their story. There are protections out there. Check out some of the incredible organisations below for resources and information. With love and gratitude for the many who stood by me, many of you I know. Many of you I don't. But I will never stop appreciating or advocating for you.”

Blake Lively included a list of organizations providing pertinent information and resources in the post, such as Equal Rights Advocates, California Women's Law Center, California Employment Lawyers Association, CHILD USA, and Coalition Against Trafficking in Women.

Justin Baldoni suffered a significant setback on Monday when a court rejected both his defamation lawsuit against The New York Times and his countersuit against Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist. The filmmaker was accused of extortion and defamation, and the court's ruling puts an end to their $650 million legal struggle.

"The Wayfarer Parties have not alleged that Lively is responsible for any statements other than the statements in her CRD complaint, which are privileged," Judge Lewis J. Liman wrote in the opinion and order file that PEOPLE was able to obtain. According to the Wayfarer Parties, the Times issued more remarks accusing the Wayfarer Parties of launching a smear campaign, and Reynolds and [publicist Leslie] Sloane made more statements accusing Baldoni of sexual misconduct.

For Blake Lively and other people that "Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer Parties dragged into their retaliatory lawsuit, including Ryan Reynolds, Leslie Sloane, and The New York Times," the ruling was a "total victory and a complete vindication," according to Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, the Gossip Girl star's lawyers.

The decision represents the most recent development in the legal dispute over the production and distribution of the 2024 movie It Ends With Us. In January, Justin Baldoni sued Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds for 400 million dollars, claiming that the Hollywood celebrities were attempting to ruin his name by accusing him of sexual harassment.
